So there are apparently ways to advertise in the sky by creating personalized clouds now? I'm starting to really believe than in America, everything IS bigger.

On Sunday night was the "Terrier Tailgate" and a men soccer match opposing the BU Terriers to Brown bears. BU organized a lot of entertainment to go through the night, including its prime marching band...

... and of course, cheerleaders, as well as an inflatable basketball training station..

The match in itself was pretty boring. We didn't even stay till the end, but learned that we had lost 1-0 at the 84th minute.

Some more cheerleaders distributing goodies.

Daphne, Anna-Maria, Clarissa and Lorin.
Maylis and I.

The band was doing its very best, but the audience was not exaclty the mad, cheering crowd we usually see for Minicrit. Although BU and Nancy share scarlet and white as their colors, and a dog as their mascot, I'd say Nancy largely wins this "prix de l'ambiance" round. After all, no one from BU brought a Krochon (and as for the Kronembourg, *cough* 21 puritan law *cough*...)

The West Towers, dorms that house a majority of freshmen, looking over Nickerson Field. People watching from their windows could actually be spotted.

The BU dance team keeping us entertained during half-time.

As well as more (more) cheerleaders and T-shirt throwing.

The pretty bland scoring board.

Mandatory picture with Rhett.

Team circle, although it proved to be ineffective this time around.

  1. Go Brown! Didn't know they had a soccer team and I always used to be on campus.

  2. Ahah, that's funny! I guess soccer isn't very popular in the US compared to American football (although I'm suspecting the World Cup has changed things at least a little - World Cup fanaticism was crazy in Europe). Anyway, to me it was nice that this was soccer, because I still have to figure out more precisely the rules of baseball, American football (still really haven't figured this one out, and why they play with a rugby ball when they call it "football" and why they wear giant helmets and what is the general purpose of the game lol), hockey, cricket and what have you :) But it's good to learn!

  3. So you studied at Brown then, or did you just happened to visit the campus?

  4. I live right near Brown. My dad used to be a professor of medicine before he changed jobs and I volunteered at the special collections library. I walk through campus all the time. It's a nice shortcut otherwise there's a long walk up/down a steep hill. If you ever want to see it, you can take the train or bus to Providence and I will show you around! I will ask my dad to explain football to you. I can explain baseball thanks to videogames and phys ed classes in high school.
