Coming full (Cleveland) Circle

Beauty

Blooming trees above Bay State Road.

Marsh Chapel sheltered by blossoming trees.

The BU Beach at dusk, where the wind in the trees and passing cars replace the noise of the waves.

Playing frisbee behing Marsh Chapel.

Typing my "rapport de séjour de 3A" from the study room on the 26th floor of Student Village. Cambridge on the right, Boston on the left.

Citgo sign suddenly so tiny!

GO, RANDOM STRANGER, GO! - Boston Marathon 2015

My poor efforts at taking a pictures of the racing bikings who run the marathon the night before.

The ast mile of the Marathon was luckily just under my window. Police secured Kenmore Square.

Good natured neighbours organized a barbecue for the Boston Police in spites of  imminent rain.

Women winners around noon.

With my friend Emily, after lunch, and before goign back to our respective homework. i'm so glad I got to see this Boston tradition with her!

Security checkpoint. it's almost been a month, but the purple "Inspected" tag is still stuck to my handbag :D

Here comes the sun (sorta)

Some flowers are finally here! After such a long winter, this is an incredibly exciting sight.

I am spending this Easter alone with a textbook and tons of homework... but I made sure to escape for two hours to Coolidge Corner, where I spent many happy hours with my Holiday Inn friends last semester.

Last time I went to Yogurt Land was with Clarissa in December. This time it was my turn to indulge in a little bit of sweetness. After all, it's Easter. Though the temperature dropped after this, this little outing boosted my motivation. Hope you too had a nice Easter/Passover!

Springtime of (some) Nations

Darling, let'scelebrate the arrival of the spring and my highly unexpected admission/registration to a non-selective Master from Sciences Po (who doesn't like to brag?) with some bad political science jokes! Depending on your time zone, it might already be spring where you are. Flowers, picnics, demonstrations, young love, baby animals, eclipses... theyare all here for you. Meanwhile, in Boston...
It appears we didn't quite get the memo. The whole city is still very much mobilized to make that record breaker winter (SNOWIEST SINCE 1878, WE SURVIVED 2,75 METERS OF SNOW) even more impressive. It's good for T-shirt sellers. But no panic, grass has been spotted:

Hopefuls even got their barbecues ready for when the clock strikes midnight and we too, thanks to daylight savings, can finally enjoy the new season:

Bikes abandonned in thesnow during the winter now sport pretty rusty colors (some more raitonal people believe we might be more successful if we just ask for fall-like rain):

Overheard while taking those pictures and planning this blog post today : "I am never EVERgoing to to grad school orfinding a job in a cold city. Never again!"

Feeling let down by the skies and/or the candidates to the impending French départementales (I know I do!): don't panic, there is still something to celebrate on this snowy March 21st. DIFFERENCE! It's https://www.worlddownsyndromeday.org/World Down Syndrome Day. It's a great opportunity to start a conversation by wearing mismatch socks proudly or inform yourself on what is done in your country on what is done to help persons with Down Syndrome make their own decisions and achieve their dreams. Not sure where to start ? Pledge to adopt a more respectful vocabulary for everyone, and especially persons with disabilities. It's easy. Google "People First Language", and start making a difference!
