| The wonderful QNPoohBear from AGPLaythings strikes again with her awesome historical visits advices and this time organized a great day for meand "Scarlett". Alongside her family, we first enjoyed a real diner brunch, a Providence specialty. |
Grâce à AGPlaythings, un forum de collectionneurs de poupées, j'ai eu la chance de me faire des amis américains en dehors de Boston, comme la merveilleuse "QNPoohBear", qui était venue me faire visiter la Freedom Trail de Boston et m'avait donné plein de bonnes idées de visites lors de mon premier passage à Providence (et à Québec aussi, mais c'est une autre histoire). Cette fois-ci elle et sa famille ont tenu à m'inviter dans un diner, l'une de ces anciens "restaurants roulants" des années 1960 que Providence a vu naître, et dans lequel j'ai pu déguster une délicieuse omelette au brie, et parler poupées tranquillement.

Evidemment, à 20 ans, on a pas tous les jours l'occasion de parler ouvertement de ses poupées. On s'est donc beaucoup amusées à parler vêtements historiques miniatures, et à faire se rencontrer nos possessions respectives, Ruth et Pauline.

Je voudrais juste remercier publiquement QNPoohBear et sa famille pour leur accueil formidable : invitation au restaurant, organisation d'une visite de musée gratuite avec audioguides, repas italien maison, gentilles attentions telle une baguette (Providence a une très bonne boulangerie française et ils voulaient m'en faire profiter car en tant qu'Américains d'origine italienne, ils comprennent l’importance du bon pain) et même la délicatesse devenir me chercher puis de me reconduire à la gare et d'attendre que mon train arrive avant de repartir. Vraiment, j'ai été très touchée !
I would like to publicly thank QNPoohBear and her entire family for their spontaneous, wonderfully warm welcome, from taking meto the restaurant and the museum for free, to picking me up and bringing me back to the train station (and even waiting for my train to arrive before leaving!), to the homemade pasta dinner and their gift of a French bread baguette. You were all incredibly kind with me and I can't express how grateful I am for all the cares you took to organize such a great day. Thank you so much!
Ha ha there's ,my nephew little B touching the "choo choo" before leaving. I look enough like Molly that she can stand in for me. Samantha would have been better. Ruth was excited to meet another girl from her own time. So far she's only met Samantha and Rebecca and sometimes Susanna. She enjoyed discussing the latest fashions from Paris with Pauline. She is instructed NOT to ask for that dress. (Her trunk is still in progress) You are most welcome for the hospitality. We're Italian! If my grandmother was alive, she would have not only made you pasta with homemade sauce, she would have made the bread too and sent you home with a food box including her famous cookies.
